Since the Trust’s formation in 1990, the volunteer Trustees and Members have been involved in many heritage projects on Bute.

In 2004 the Bute Conservation Trust initiated the Discover Bute Landscape Partnership Scheme as part of the Trust’s aim of conserving the natural, built and social heritage of Bute.

The Trust is always looking for members who want to be involved in Bute’s built and natural heritage.

April 2019: Kelspokes Path closed temporarily due to landslip

A landslip has blocked the Kelspokes Path path that joins Stage One of the West Island Way near the ‘Hawk’s Neb’. We have placed ‘path closed’ notice at the top and bottom of the path. Inspection of the location indicates that there is no safe alternative re-route in the immediate vicinity. We will review the situation once the landslip has had time to stabilise.
